So in an unexpected turn of events, I'm not moving to timberline this weekend.

Rachael found a 4bedroom house with a quarter acre back yard for rent. And I could have two of those bedrooms to myself. And pay $250/month less than what I'd pay at timberline.

While I like living alone and would enjoy being able to walk to work, I think saving that kind of money, plus not having to pay a $400 pet deposit, plus having more space and a real yard for calypso, I can't say no to that. It's gonna take some adjusting. But. This year is all about patience, right? Rachael knows I'm not super social all the time and doesn't mind that I need left alone. So. That's good. Only we can't move in until later in thr month. So I'm just gonna have to live half packed, half unpacked for awhile.

So we will see how it all goes. I know I get to paint so that's exciting.

Meanwhile I'm getting ready to head to Jeremy's graduation. Legitimately, I'm really proud of him. He's made the last two years really memorable and I'm going to miss him at the end of summer.

Today I am thankful for:

(small pleasures)

I've been eating so healthy lately and running and lifting and playing soccer and I hadnt weighed myself in a few weeks. So I was super excited to see this morning that I've dropped another five pounds or so. I know being active has helped tremendously. But you know what? Sometimes you wake up and all you want out of life is a snickers ice cream bar.

Thankful for: realizing I'm going to be just fine. Cool breezes. Puppy snores. Hope for the future.

Thankful for: my friend who was diagnosed with testicular cancer is now cancer free! My godchild is fine! I didn't quit when i got mad at soccer!

Practice tonight was just not fun. We had more people playing and they were from the better league where they know how to play. So a lot of them just hotdogged and didn't really let us new ppl play. And our coach had a bad attitude about it all. It's hard to be positive and try when your leaders are griping and not helpful. I'm hoping I can start to pick this up more.

But I tried dammit. I stayed out there the whole time and I tried to always do what they told me to. And if I didn't understand I tried to have them explain it to me without getting pissed off.

Friday is my baby interns graduation and we are going to go to that. I'm so proud of him and all he has done. He's a Fulbright scholar which is a damn big deal. He and I had a long heart to heart the other night about life and I hear the things I'm telling him that I need to remember to tell myself. Good things will happen if you believe in them.

PS. You have no idea how badass this makes me feel. A year ago I couldn't have even fathomed doing a quarter of the healthy, athletic shit I'm doing. So that is a definite blessing in everything that has happened.

Thankful for: unexpected blessings.
